Fedora14 KVM Issues

Hello all.. pretty extreme newbie over here, trying to conquer some issues.

We are running Fedora14, and it's on a business system, so upgrading at this time is not an option (because it's not allowed).

We are trying to configure to use X on a KVM switch and running into issues with it not detecting the monitor. The monitor type shows unknown and limits the screen resolution we can set.

If we plug directly into the monitor, it detects the monitor and everything works fine. But we have to use KVM.

Does anyone have any tips or a direction they can point me in to help get this figured out? A lot of what I have read is to copy files like xorg.conf from a a pre-FC12 install and use those.. but, we upgraded to FC14 from RH7. KVM works great on the RH7 box. What changed?

Thank you!

so what changed in the 11 years since RH7 ( released in Sep. 2000)
Everything

you might want to read the fedora documentation
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/index.html

and please INFORM your boss that fedora 14 hits it's end of life in December 2011 - 4 months from now .
and at that time you will need to repeat all of this with fedora 16
