Fedora/Firefox video player problems

I am trying to add workstations to our free Internet Cafe' here in Iraq using old donated Laptops. I have installed Fedora Core 5 with Firefox About:Plugins shows Shockwave Flash 7.0, Java 1.5.0_08 and Helix
In order for the machines to be useful I need to have the video player work on CNN, FOXNews, and/or MSNBC. Currently on FOX the free player comes up but has no video in the player screen. MSNBC wants the microsoft player and CNN doesn't work either. Any help out there please?
