Greetings.
i'm running Ubuntu 10.10. when i launch a XDMCP connection to RHEL 4 remotely via the following commands:
X +kb -once -query 16.186.119.50 vt9 :2,
Xnest +kb -ocne -query 16.186.119.50 :2,
Xephyr -screen 800x600 -once -query 16.186.119.50 vt9 :2
I can log on to RHEL 4, but RHEL 4 will popup the following error:
Quote:
Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
- a bug in libxklavier library
- a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
- X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation
X server version data:
The X.Org Foundation
10402000
If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
- The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
|
there is no error when I log on to RHEL 4 locally, if the user has logged on locally, there will no error when the same user log on to RHEL 4 remotely via XDMCP.
and, there will no error when I log on to RHEL 5 via XDMCP...
I do not know what differences between the first logon and the second. I guess it must be the problem of RHEL 4.
I googled this error and tried every solution, but no help for me...
P.S.
The result of xprop -root | grep XKB:
_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "base","pc105","us","",""
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING)="base","pc105","us","",""
The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
layouts = [us]
model = pc105
overrideSettings = false
options = []
update_handlers = []
Any idea?
Thank yooooooooooooou veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery much!
