edit rc.local before it executes?

My FC5 box won't start properly since I added a line in rc.local to start a service automatically. How can I login and remove the line before the OS tries running the problematic service?

Have you tried booting into single user mode? I think Fedora uses grub so I'm not sure of the syntax, but if you pass the option single when you select the kernel to boot at the grub prompt, you should be able to bypass your boot script and edit it.

If that doesn't work, you could boot with your install CD, mount your root partition and edit the file.

Boot into single user mode ... then edit the file.

Ahh, gilead beat me to it.

Thank you both. This is exactly what I needed to know.
