Dvd95 Problems

I am having a problem with DVD95. I copied a DVD film which was 1 hour 59 minutes which is long. I don't know why but an error comes up the file is too long. When I view the film I can only play 1 hour and 52 minutes so the last 7 minutes is lost.
Does anyone know why?
Thanks in advance.

I think you might be on the right track because when I finish recording it says everything is OK, but it isn't. I usually transfer movies to an external USB memory and when I try to do this it tells me there is an error. When I burn to DVD the same thing happens. Is there some kind of limit on the size?

well 4.7 ( not 4.2) for a disk .Sometimes a dvd will only hold 4.6 and the rest is cutoff .

is the usb a fat32 format if so then there is a 4 gig ( 3.99 gig) max file size .
a larger file will be wrote to it but the end of the file will be gone .

Thanks for your reply. I have no idea about the fat32 format so I will go back to the computer shop and ask them if the external memory (TOSHIBA) is or not. Your reply made me check the properties of the DVD in question and it said 56 items totalling 7.6GB used. Another movie I was having the same trouble with said it was 49 items totalling 5.9GB. Obviously I was assuming a film was no bigger than 4.7GB the size of a normal DVD. I will have to check this next time I record. Is there anything I can do in this case?
