Downgrading KDE4 to KDE3.5

Recently I figured out that my KDE 4 was eating up a hell lot of resource on my ol' AMD Athlon XP 2400+ . Finally, I decided to downgrade my Desktop environment to KDE3.5 since it won't use so much of my machine's resource for all the flash offered by KDE 4.

Here, I'm compiling KDE 3.5.10 from it's sources directly. I'm on a Fedora Core 10 box and used to rely upon Yum's auto-updates for KDE updates. Now what I'm concerned with is, whether or not would I find KDE 3.5 updates in the same repository and if I shall have to add some other repository location for yum?

Is KDE 3.5 being updated?

I am running Mepis 8 with KDE 3.5.9---they are staying with 3.5 for what may be the same reasons you are.

The folks that do kdemod for Arch are also keeping 3.5 alive.

There is hope....

Kde 3.5

I think I may stay with 3.5 until KDE 5.1 comes out. It's one of the reasons I'm still using last years Mandriva. Or I may just switch to a lightweight Desktop.
