displaying html widgets on desktop, possible?

ok, i'm running gentoo linux with a gnome desktop. what i did on my winbox was have these running over the desktop.
if you want to take a look:

it would be nice to be able to have these widgets run on the desktop so i can view the surf forcast.
any way of doing this?
thanks

Maybe.

Use either Mozilla's prism or write a nice screenlet.

I don't know wether or not video support is working in prism or this is just some refreshed jpeg - try it.
