display problem


i am using rhel 4. later i use lg monitor but now when i connect samsung monitor i cannt have display after boot screen

pls helpme to how to change the display setting or using linux single

When you get no display, does it put you into terminal (command-line) mode?

Assuming that you can enter commands, try editing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to put in the correct settings for your monitor.

I am assuming that--since it worked with the LG--your video card driver is OK.

What you can do is boot into runlevel 3 and run "system-config-display --reconfig". Follow the instructions here to boot into runlevel 3.
