Disable Second Mouse without xorg.conf

Hi,
I have a USB device which I'd like to us as an HID device and not an Xpointer. When I plug the device in, it likes to act as a second pointer by default. I'm new to UBUNTU, coming form older versions of Debian in which xorg.conf was the way to handle such things. How can I disable this device as an xinput pointer, and still be able to 'see' it in /dev/input?

I should mention, I did do ~$sudo dexconfig -o
And I got xorg.conf content, but only pertaining to my video setup.

Even though it doesn't come with an xorg.conf by default you can add one after the fact when the default findings aren't working for you.
