Disable Menu Accelerator Keys

Hello, and thank you for reading this. I am using eclipse in redhat linux and I want to map the F10 key to an operation. The problem is, as I understand it, is that the GNOME keyboard accelerator is intercepting this keystroke, and is opening the first menu option. For any application opened, the F10 key will have this behavior. How can I disable this?
