Desktop environments. HELPuh.

Hello. I know very little on how to manipulate the desktop environments, and know nothing of which look like what. That being said, I found this screenshot I like.

Anyone have any clue how to get that side panel with all of the comp's information ? Also. The way the command windows have no border I find attractive.

Id appreciate any information on any desktop environments you've seen with these possible characteristics. If you answer this (productively ) youre amazing.

The sidebar with the information is most certainly conky. You can find many many different configurations on the web with a search.

goumba is right. The sidebar is conky. The terminal windows are probably normal XFCE terminals with transparent window borders. Lots of options come up on google about how to configure both.

As stated before, the information displayed on the background comes from Conky, the terminals are the standard XFCE Terminal. Since this is running on top of Slackware 13.37 the desktop is most likely XFCE 4.6.2.
