cygwin - ssh to localhost failing with 'Connection Closed by 127.0.0.1'


Hi,

I want to setup single server hadoop on my laptop. As prerequisite for the same, installed cygwin and sshd service. Now I need to establish the connection to localhost or 127.0.0.1; When I am trying this, I am getting any error on cygwin terminal as - 'Connection Closed by 127.0.0.1'; Following is the output of the 'ssh -v localhost'. I am using Windows 7, x86

Cygwin is not a prerequisite for running a server on your laptop. It is a way of having a *nix like environment on your Windows machine. Trying to connect to localhost via ssh is rightly refused, as you are already there.
If you want a server on your laptop, look at installing a Linux distribution in a virtual machine, if your Windows 7 version will support it.
