Cursor theme in IceWM

Edit: Solved by using sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme

I'm testing changing my cursor theme. This is the content of my ~/.Xdefaults file:
On my login screen (GDM) I still see the default black cursor. After that the cursor changes to red for a second, only to revert to the default as IceWM loads. How do I make IceWM use my chosen theme?
