SOLVED-ctrl-alt-F(1-6) not working in PCLinuxOS) a KDE bassed distro

I am having trouble because when I hit the combination of ctrl-alt-F#, it doesn't respond at all.

that is in a regular log in pattern.

If I start in a C?L and startx, then it will work.

someone has suggested it might be a kdm issue, but I honestly don't know enough about it.

Does anyone have a suggestion or help for this?

Here's what I found.

In KDE Manager, I went to SYStem-Input Actions-General Settings.

A check box was checked to disable hotkey settings.

I unchecked the box, applied and VIOLA!

I can get my screens back again.

So simple it was overlooked ( as usual)

anyway, that's the fix that worked for me.
