cp not copying all folders from hdb1 to hdd1

I have 3 hd in this machine.

hda1- File System 20GB
hdb1- music 40GB
hdd1- want to copy music (hdb1) to this drive 250GB

New drive i just put in (the 250) and I tried to copy all the music which is taking up all 40GB of hdb1. When I copy and paste it takes between 10 and 15 min to copy then I check out the properties and the 250 gb is only using 20gb of space however the entire 40gb is being used for nothing but music. I went through and opened some of the folders and I noticed that the folder was copied but no music. I then tried the cp command and still the same issue any help is appreciated.

Yes Sir

Yes I did the exact command was

cp -r /data /data2/music

I forgot there was one error about the lost and found folder. other then that it completed, but with some of the folders being empty on data2/music

Hi,

Check your file system and syslog (or dmesg), if anything suspicious.

Happy Penguins!

Well everything transferred fine when I cut and paste like 20 folders at a time. Was odd that the command line cp didn't work as well. The exp taught me the diff command though which is a cool tool that I had not used b4. Thanx for the replies.
