courier-imap hangs frequently

HHi
I have configured my intranet mail server with courier-imap & postfix were my mail usage will be high from 6:00m to 13m.In this time frequently my mail server stop relay 4 hours once , in that time i tried to restart all the service it doesnt work , if i reboot the server mails send and receive happen proberly.
linux version: RHEL AS r4 update6.
help me out....

I would look at your concurrency and resource settings in postfix. if your rate controls are set too high (lots of simultaneous connections), you can be causing your own email log-jam.. there is a reason many of those rate settings are so low by default.

and if I were you, I would have posted this in the Server section since Postfix, and courier-imap are not really 'Desktop' related..
