Hello everyone,first thanks for the help I been given over the past few months,I'm enjoying my linux experience,I've joined a local evening class to gain more insight into this thing called linux.
One Q's I have is what the do the different colours signify,when using the console in command line mode.

In the future it's probably a better idea to start separate threads for different questions.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by colors when using the console. In general it's some kind of indicator for syntax. The most likely thing to encounter is probably the output of the "ls" command which can use different colors to indicate different types of files. So all directories would be one color, all symbolic links are another, all executable files are a third color, etc.
