Compiz windows hang after login!
 

Hello,

I hope that this hasn't been answered anywhere else if so I must have over looked it so please forgive me now. I have a problem with compiz that is stranger than all other threads that I have seen on the web and in the forums. When I login as my user with FC7 with all of the latest filesets as soon as I do anything with the taskbar everything freezes but the mouse. I have tried to find a slick way to turn off compiz but since I can't take the route of: System > Preferences > Look and Feel > Desktop Effects, to disable it I was hopping that someone may know another way to disable it without having to go into the window manger. Also when I get into this state I can't use the ctrl+alt+Fx keys to go to a non windowed env. I looked for a config file that it may have created so that I could stop it from starting at the time that I login but couldn't find out what it would be. Any help would we a big relief to get this problem taken care of. The system that this is happening on is my T61 laptop with the intel 965GM X3100 video chipset with 2gb of memory and a Intel Core 2 Duo 7500, 2.2 GHz, 4MB L2 cache.

Well I just took the easy way out of this problem I removed the user after backing up all of my data that I needed to keep and then just recreated the user with the same uid as before so the issue is taken care of by doing that but what was the real issue I don't know.
