Compiz on Ubuntu(Studio) - Resizing windows causes Compiz to crash!
Ok, I had Compiz set up and all and it worked great except of one flaw - every time I try to resize a window, everything becomes extremely slow and choppy, except for the mouse cursor. I'm using a ATI Xpress 1600 in my Intel dual core system but I don't think it's that. I had sabayon on there before and didn't have this problem at all. When I start compiz with "compiz --replace' in xterm I get this:
Checking for Xgl: present.
Checking for nVidia: not present.
Checking for Xgl: present.
Enabling Xgl with fglrx ATi drivers...
Starting emerald
/usr/bin/compiz.real (video) - Warn: No 8 bit GLX pixmap format, disabling YV12 image format
Does the last message have anything to do with it? I don't get any messages when the 3D desktop crashes. Is there a way to fix this problem or do I have to apply a don't-resize-windows policy upon myself?
