Chromium, VirtualBox and VMPlayer all crash. Cause?

Whenever i log in and try to use any of the above programs, I am kicked off to the log in screen. I have to re-log in. I havent tried all my software, but it seems everything else seems to be working.

Is there anything common between these that i can check?
The crash happens so sudden I would be surprised if the programs created logs; but if they did, where would they be?

(Using Debian Wheezy, KDM, Fluxbox)

Thanks folks

I just went through this. I had done updates, looked at the updates and saw xorg had been updated. I run a Nvidia binary for my video card. To fix, I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver, and installed it.

If this sounds familiar, and you already have the latest Nvidia driver, just re-install it. Fixed two systems for me.
