Changing Linux Desktop

I have installed linuxmint and it was working fine but suddenly I lost the sound.

I followed the instruction as per the link

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=205449

Mistakenly I issued the following command

sudo apt-get install gdm xubuntu-desktop

The above command replaced my Desktop(Linuxmint) with xubuntu.

How do I restore Linuxmint desktop?

Thanks

I don't think your mint desktop has vanished totally. I think your system is using Xubuntu as the default. When you logout you will see a logout button in the bottom right corner of your bottom panel. click on that. There will be something called session. choose whichever session. and you are done.

Hi Basheer

when I click Logout, There is an checkbox save session for future login. Should I uncheck and logout?

That's irrelavent. It just saves your Xfce session, it doesn't stop you from using other desktops.
