cant find a minimized window on the task bar on mandriva KDE desktop
 

i clicked on the right mouse button on the task bar and then clicked on something and and now when i minimize a window, it doesnt appear on the task bar anymore, how should i fix it?

and also when i try to unrar rar. files it says ¨aria 2 failed: exited with 2¨, how am i supposed to unrar my files? though some of them did get extracted and some didnt.

P.S iḿ new to linux and not very good at computers so...

You need to add the Task Manager. Right click your taskbar and make sure you have your widgets unlocked. Select add widget to bring up your widget list.

I used to get this problem with rar files created with winrar. You can install winrar using wine. Wine is available for install via the add/remove section of your Mandriva control centre.

We all have to start somewhere :) If you need any further instructions, just ask..

i downloaded wine but it doesnt install... it says ¨ürmpi database is locked, process 11984 is using it (usr/bin/perl/usr/sbin/gurpmi2/home/salo/dessktop/downloads/wine-1.2-1mdv2010.1.i586.rpm)" (salo is the name of the computer)

to unrar have unrar installed of coarse. ive noticed ark doesn't all ways work for me on some rar files
cd to them in konsole and try
unrar e whateveritscalled.rar
paste in password enter

There's no need to download wine separately. Use the provided package manager until you are more familiar with how GNU/Linux works. Do: alt & F2, type: mcc press enter, input your root password then click ok. Select Install & Remove Software type wine in the search box.
