cannot find dvd driver, problem install redhat el4

I am trying to install Redhat El4 on a brand new Lenovo machine. The machine has a dvd writer installed. The machine is able to boot from the redhat cd, but once it is on the redhat installation menu, it complain about not finding a driver for the dvd. Does it mean that I cannot install Redhat el4 on this machine?

Well, I never used RedHat and you normally don't need any drivers for cd/dvd drives, only for the chipset that controls them.
Give it a try with another distribution - Suse, Ubuntu, whatever - and see what happens. Btw, didn't RedHat say they wouldn't support anymore desktop installation, only enterprise?
