Well, unless the obvious is staring me in the face, I can't seen anything wrong with that, and it worked fine on my system, running the same distro and DE as you.

Remembering to close all your open work, have you tried running the shell file directly from the command line, to see that at least it works?

Navigate to the directory where it is located then enter on the command line:

A supplementary question. When you double-clicked on the launcher to run it, were you asked for your password in the terminal window that opened?
