Booting fonts/ fonts on a non gui session

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu 10.04, and sometimes I just need the boot window (ie. a no gui environment through Ctrl+Alt+F?.)
My question is how to control the window fonts size?

Thanks

Frankly, I wasn't sure you could change the fonts in text mode. I always assumed they were fixed.

I was wrong.

You SHOULD be able to change them, with "setfont":

http://linuxcommand.org/man_pages/setfont8.html

'Hope that helps .. PSM

Hi Paulsm4,

Thanks for the link.
I am not sure I could understand what was there.
Is there a command I can use to use a certain font such as: 9x15 (or Terminus)?

Hi again,

I tried this:
Code:

setfont Uni2-Terminus12x6
I am sure this ont is in my /usr/share/consolefonts/, but I got this error:
Code:

Couldn't get a file descriptor referring to the console
Any hint?
