Best way to use my current desktop :0 remotely

Hi,

I currently have my debian etch PC at home with my nice X setup. I want to access my desktop when i'm away. I have used VNC and freenx before but i really want to use freenx now because of all the advantages.
Now a while ago when i tried freenx i realised that it had to spawn a new X when i connect to it so i was connecting to :1 instead of :0

my questions are:
1. how do i easily install freenx now (deb packages for etch)?
2. how can i connect to my already existing X desktop instead of :1?

thanks & regards!

A little clarification: X server is a program that handles drawing. Your :0 desktop is probably governed by an X server that can only draw using physical local hardware (in Unix world it is customary to run X server on the machine you sit at and make applications on the server side connect to it; so the X server is at the same machine as the video card, but not as the application). Your :1 desktop is freenx virtual desktop that transmits data to client - so it is separated from video hardware, but not applications. I am not sure if there are any solutions that grab screen drawn by classic-type server and transmit it like freenx/vnc does.
