Unhappy best pc configuration for linux

Hello,

I need the best pc configuration to run linux os for my school project. My question is as follows.
Assume that IIT School wants to buy 1,000 PCs for all IIT School labs. These PCs must be able to run Linux OS. Although IIT School has a fixed and limited budget, but IIT School is willing to pay "good-value for money". Recommend a PC configuration (brand, hardware specifications and costs) for IIT School to consider so that Linux OS could be installed and execute well for the benefit of the students, and explain why you chose that PC configuration and which Linux Distribution.
Can anyone help me to figure out this question? pls give me your suggestion...... Thank you.

Per the LQ Rules, please do not post homework assignments verbatim. We're happy to assist if you have specific questions or have hit a stumbling point, however. Let us know what you've already tried and what references you have used (including class notes, books, and Google searches) and we'll do our best to help. Also, keep in mind that your instructor might also be an LQ member.

Start by putting the assignment in your own words as a series of questions that must be answered in order to got to the solutions. You'll have to refine the bigger questions like "what PC to choose?" into smaller questions that are easy to answer. Consider what the school's ITC needs are, how different computer hardware is distinguished, and how the distributions are distinguished. What are the primary concerns likely to be when considering buying hardware specifically for gnu/linux?

Copy and past is a very bad way to write an assignment - instructors usually feel insulted when they see it.

Also consider - even though it is on the assignment, there is no OS called "linux". Linux is one component of the operating system - albeit an important one. So you see, your instructor is seeing if you are paying attention.
