beryl/compiz + asus a25h (sis m650)

...I'm afraid that I will get uncomfortable answers...but...

hello guys,

my laptop is asus a25h, and the graphic card is sis m650 (yes,
linux has no dri support for it). i've installed opensuse 10.2
there, and i want to use compiz/beryl for its desktop...

the question is...does my laptop support compiz/beryl?

thank you,

Quick answer : No

Long answer : compiz, beryl, aiglx....ect all require DRI. To run them you need to have hardware acceleration (aka..dri)
glxinfo nust read :

name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes <--------Has to say YES

That being said I have beryl running on my lappy (ATI 9000 32mb ram) and on my desktop (nVidia 7800gt 256mb ram) and to be honest the difference in end user experience is huge.
