have you tried your luck with blackbuntu, it's similar distro and shoudl have automated "additional drivers"

http://blackubuntu.com/dowload/ is where you download it..install it and than search for "additional drivers"

they make wireless cards recognised,search google for more help or just find application in blackubuntu.
