Try disabling kde indexing (ie. strigi) - it should slightly speed things up.

Bouncing cursor?
But I thought you aren't running KDE?!? |
You again missed post# 30
You asked me "What's so bad about just having KDE installed?" and i replied accordingly (bouncing cursor problem due to slowness) ! |
But you aren't using KDE, are you?
|
I am using LXDE right now and trying to find ways to get around the slowness of KDE, so that i don't have to install two desktop environments !!
|
I don't understand why you have the bouncing cursor even though you are not running KDE.
I don't know, maybe removing KDE and installing Marble? |

I told you that bouncing cursor problem (slowness) occurs when I run KDE !! I am trying to figure out how to get around that problem ! (though i am not running KDE right now) |
OK, I understood that you wanted to get rid of KDE.
Anyway, is the problem the bouncing cursor itself, or the fact that something is working in the background (causing the bouncing cursor)? |

It's probably something that's tightly integrated into KDE :)
Anyway, maybe try running top whilt that's giong on, and that way you might find out what's happening? |
