I had no opinion of your skills in windows. However, many a linux user has borked their windows install more than once.
Ask me how I know that.
Don't worry, I understood your question...
But I am still looking for an answer to my question: How do I move the app "Download and upload speed" which I asked about in post #13 to the place in the task bar where it belongs`?
And also: Is it possible to import the Firefox profile from Win7, or at least parts of it like the bookmarks, tothe Linux Firefox installation?
Thanks, BW.... but I am new to Linux, so could you please explain that to me in whole sentences?
"firefox sign up for its sync under preferences -> firefox account "
Is that in Windows or in Linux?
And then? I assume it will not happen on its own?
firefox the web browsing app either windows or linux or whatever can run firefox.
go into preferences then -> firefox account, then sign up for an account, it syncs itself to every firefox app you are signed into via the firefox app.

Thank you, that makes it clear.
which still leaves me with how to move an app to the taskbar, at the bottom right of the desktop?

to do what with it? to start an app hot button (or whatever "they" call it)?
I'm in manjaro at the moment so I can't go through them steps to write them down, its something like, right click on bar, turn on the edit bar thing (switch), then something about add to bar, click it , select the add launcher or app launcher, it might give you a selection of apps to add to it, go through the listings and find it click on it, click done.
( I got four distors with different desktops, its hard to remember which one does what how, if I am not in it.)
but if you right click on the bar then read the message selection window, and fool around with it enough you should be able to figure it out.
I think you can still copy your bookmarks and such as was in older versions (if you don't wish to sync.) As I recall I did that once from windows to linux.

That is why I added the link to the post. It is actually adding a kind of toolbar to the taskbar, a toolbar that shows the upload and download speed at the moment, it is a net-speed-monitor and so its only sensible place is in the taskbar at all times.
But your advice with the right click helped, after that it was easy to add what I want. Thank you very much.
I need to add three more Wikipedia versions (in other languages) to the english one in the search engines... how can I do that? The page about search engines, does not say anything about it, do you happen to know that?

Ohh , It would be best to open another thread in here and ask that as a separate question so others will see it. Hopefully they can help you.
