About GNOME and KDE.
Hi,all
Are there all the linux support the GONE and the KDE in any kind of the kernel's version. Thank you! |
Some distros include Gnome and KDE, but not all distros. Generally speaking, a distro will include at least one of them and it should be compatible with any kernel included with that distro release.

If you're asking if KDE and GNOME support is in the kernel, it isn't.
|
DEBIAN supports BOTH in the SARGE Distro. It brings up GNOME after you configure it, but allows you to CHOOSE which one you would rather use in the startup screen.
You can use the SYNAPTIC package manager to put in all the feature programs for either one. |
I used the co-create linux 2005 sp1 , it installed the gnome by default.
But I want to use the Kopete, somebody told me to install the qt4.1. But I couldn't install qt. |
I went to Co-Create's website, opendesktop.net.
There I found an apt-rpm tutorial (in Chinese, so I don't know what it says). http://www.opendesktop.net/documenta...t-rpm-tutorial You should be able to apt-rpm install kopete or something like that. If it says it can't find it, try adding freshrpms to your sources.list. If you need help, write back. Distrowatch says it is based on Fedora, so any instructions and RPMs for Fedora should work on Co-Create also. |
