[Kubuntu] Missing volume,wireless,notifications icons
I accidentally removed, how do I get it back ?

It's been a while since I used KDE regularly, but I think if you right click the KDE panel you will get a menu including an item that allows you to add applications.

frankbell, do you meant add widgets ?

I was trying to find, but couldn't any widgets for d icons.

Like I said, it's been a while. I'm a confirmed Fluxbox user. I last used KDE regularly (and really liked it) in the 3.x series.

I just fired up KDE 4.x on my laptop. In about five minutes of searching I could not find a way to re-add those items to the panel. Unless something is sorely borked in your system, it should be easy to put those things back.

I'm sorry I couldn't help more. I must have been remembering my KDE 3.x days.

Maybe "Get Widgets" will turn up something that will help you. Possibly these were widgets that somehow disappeared and need to be replaced.

I'll look again tomorrow when I have a bit more time to experiment.

I looked around KDE some today. I think all those items you listed are available as widgets.

I suggest this:

1. Create a new user.

2. Log in to the new username and check whether the KDE setup looks like the one you have or the one you used to have (the new setup should show you what the defaults are and let you whether the one you now have is default or deviation).

3. If the new user's desktop looks like what you now have after all that stuff disappeared, it indicates that customizations got lost. If it looks like what you used to have, it indicates that something went squirrelly with it. If the latter, then try comparing your hidden ~/.kde configuration files (no, I don't know exactly what they are called ) with the ones for your new test user.

4. Try to recreate the missing stuff with "Add New Widgets."
