Screen is garble coming out of standby

Just tried Deepin 15.4. Looks nice. However every time I recover from standby, the screen is just garble and I need to reboot. Deepin doesn't seem to offer proprietary driver at least for Nvidia.

Pentium D cpu
Nvidia 610GT

it's really hard to say anything from the little information you provided, but yes it might be that you need the nvidia proprietary driver.

please post the output of
Code:
lspci -k

Hi, I have a triple boot system with windows. Peppermint 7 with the opensource driver has the same problem but not Mint Cinnamon 18.1 with the Nvidia driver (340). I think that I need the proprietary driver with Deepin but the hardware drivers utility doesn't offer any. I think that Deepin use open source only.(?) It's an old computer for testing only. Btw the video card is a GT7300.

why did you write 610gt in your op?
anyhow, i think it's a good guess that your gpu & driver are indeed the problem here.
you might benefit from installing the legacy nvidia driver.
please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Bi...erHowto/Nvidia for instructions.

PS:
your cpu is equally outdated.
i think you would benefit from installing a more lightweight linux distro.

Yes I correct that in the post.(the 610 is in another comp). Probably the Nvidia driver will work but Deepin is Debian based, not Ubuntu. I have no experience with that system. I don't plan of using Deepin right now anyway. While quite nice, they are not up to Mint/Ubuntu level yet.

It is just a test computer, I have other more recent ones. I know the the Pentium D is antiquated but at 2x3.4Ghz, it is able to pull its weight around reasonably in Linux. It's not my main computer.

https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers
it maybe that deepin also have info on this: https://www.deepin.org/en/ (no wiki yet, but they do have a forum)
