Network manager GUI

Would any of the network manager GUI's available in apt / synaptic work with Deepin in the tray?

It would be really helpful for me if I could have saved network profiles for switching IP's in different environments where DHCP isn't running.

I'm always programming different networking equipment and manually changing my IP is tedious.

Thanks.

I only ran Deepin for about a week so I'm not sure if the Network Mgr in Synaptic will work.

You will have to install it and try it.

i'm a little surprised that deepin isn't using networkmanager already, incl. its system tray applet (nm-applet).
isn't there one in your system tray???

IF it helps, the last time I booted up Linux Deepin Network Mgr was already doing it's job but it wasn't in my system tray.

Deepin is based on Sid, Debian unstable:-

If I'm not mistaken you should be able to go to the panel> go to preferences and add Network Mgr to the system tray.

If you aren't able to add to the panel you could install another DE and add it that way.

Probably because it's been 5 years that this thread has been closed, and things aren't the same any longer.

If you think you have a valid question please make the effort to open a new thread with a full problem description. See the first link in my signature.
