Well I installed it and booted up deepin, but the screen stayed black while the boot up sounds played. I decided to pick a different distro, but I'll be doing the same thing I planned to do with deepin.
Ok-
If you continue to have a black screen you might have to add nomodeset to the kernel line in Grub.
I don't think having an HP would make a difference.....However; if it's a UEFI machine you will have to disable the secure boot in order to install Linux.
