How to watch Netflix/Prime Video?

I looked for solutions, but the problem is that these solutions tell you to go to the Chrome://components page and look for Widevine Content Description Module, and click on the "update" button. But I don't even have that component.
I checked the Addons/Extensions available in the Google Store but there is no such a component available.
I also did a plane search for this module but didn't find it.
Then what?

If you have a solution using other browser that's ok too.

Thanks

You can watch Netflix with Firefox if you enable "Allow DRM Content" in the Prefences. It's disabled by default.

That's great to know!

Also, I did get it to work in Chrome finally:

1. Select the Menu icon from the upper right corner of your browser.

2. Select Help.

3. Select About Google Chrome.

4. Chrome will display the current version and automatically install available updates.

5. Select Relaunch to complete the update.

Try Netflix again.

Thanks frankbell :)

Btw, I just tried Firefox ESR, I checkmarked "Play DRM Controlled Content" in Prefs, and in about:addons / Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc, I have it as: Always Activate, then in its prefs for Automatic updates, it was on Default, I changed it to ON.
I closed it and opened it again and still no go.

It's not working with Vivaldi either.

All I can say is that I'm watching Midsomer Murders on Netflix via Firefox v. 69 on Ubuntu MATE as I type this.

This is the article that helped me: https://itsfoss.com/watch-netflix-in-ubuntu-linux/

I don't have this problem with Mint.
But now I am in Deepin. Maybe this is the reason :(

I will have a look at your article, thank you frankbell :)

Good luck. And if you get it working before October 1 and if you are mystery buff, check out Midsomer Murders (it's going away on that date).

LOL
I will keep that in mind.

Thanks

Never mind about the solution below.
It's not working again :(
Even when redoing this again.

Someone recommended ElectronPlayer, an Electron Based Web Video Services Player. Supporting Netflix, Youtube, Twitch, Floatplane, Hulu And More. It's working great for Netflix. Too bad it doesn't support Prime Video. I am in Canada, so I cannot see Hulu
But yeah, at least I found a solution for Netflix.

I guess I spoke too soon...
After installing Snap, I tried to install EP to Deepin, but it says:
Code:

error: cannot perform the following tasks:
- Mount snap "electronplayer" (9) (cannot find required base "core18")

I got it working in Firefox!
I just removed some files so that Firefox would start anew. This way when I opened it after and went to Netflix, it told me it needed a plugin for the digital rights stuff, so I agreed for it to get it and install it. Once installed I was able to view the videos!
The following command line is for both Chrome and Firefox. I only wanted to do it for Firefox so I removed the command line parts for Chrome.

Code:

rm -rf ~/.config/google-chrome/ ~/.mozilla/firefox/ ~/.firefox-installed/ ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox ~/.cache/google-chrome/

Even so, that command is probably overkill (will delete all bookmarks, saved logins etc.) - but I'm glad you got it working with FF!
I guess starting with a new profile would have been sufficient.
