Deepin Onboard Keyboard
LQ newbie. Not a Linux newbie. So I upgraded my kitchen computer, dumping the Win10 in favor of Deepin Linux. Installed great, everything works except....the onboard keyboard. I spent an hour last night trying to get it to work properly. So the login onboard keyboard works great. The desktop one is showing Cyrillic characters. Some the buttons kick me out the the desktop session. I also get this weird graphical anomaly (not the right word) where the floating button for the onboard keyboard lives. Anyone else have this issue? I signed up for the sponsored Deepin forum, but I have to wait 120 hours before I can post anything.
As you can see, my hardware is robust enough to run Deepin, so I do not think it is a hardware issue, but you never know... Asus ROG Strix Z390 Mobo using onboard video 16GB Ram Intel i3-8100 550W Power Supply 250GB PCIe drive Planar 24" LCD Touchscreen |
So I figured out the issue. In the preferences, the Layout was set to whiteboard international characters (not sure why this would be default??). Set the layout to default. All good!!
