You're definitely on your own.
But if you want to do it, have a go. Back up your LFS first. It would probably be handier to build another fork it before you build any WM - gnome or kde. Read over the gnome & kde builds to see how they handle things. Make notes so you can write up a LFS hint afterwards. Find the compile mistakes - You'll need Qt and it's dependencies, gtk-2.x +3.x and a lot of X stuff, like Mesa. Did you build using a package manager? If you've done lfs, you should have developed some expertise at analysing failed compiles. Knock yourself out, and report back.
