Exclamation Warning: KVM is not available

I suppose the modules are not loaded. I am using OpenSUSE on a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Pentium core. I don't know what's the problem.

Make sure
Code:
egrep '(vmx|svm)' --color=always /proc/cpuinfo
returns something...if not then you might need to turn on virtualization in the bios.

You need to load kvm and kvm_amd or kvm_intel kernel modules.
Do you try to use kvm inside a (docker) container? so /dev/kvm and some privileges are needed too.

My previous CPU was less expensive but had no virtual machine capability. If there are no BIOS options for VT then that may be what is happening.

The name Dell Inspiron 1545 by itself does not specify which CPU you have got.
Dell offers the option to configure their models with a wide range of CPUs.

As mentioned, you can figure out the CPU model by running

Code:
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep model\ name
Suppose it says T4200.
You then search at the Intel ARK website and you get
http://ark.intel.com/products/37251/...Hz-800-MHz-FSB

which says:

Quote:
Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x) ‡ No
Therefore, if you have the T4200 CPU, then you do not hardware-assisted virtualization.
