Install additional software inside lxc container

I am running a Slackware 14.2 container on Slackware 14.2 host. I would like to install additional software in the container. However, when I try to this via slackpkg I get the following error:

Code:
wget: error while loading shared libraries: libunistring.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Apparently, wget is missing some libraries. How can I safely install additional software for a container?

I found the solution. The linux container had wget-1.19 installed which requires aforementioned library. The library was not installed in the container. After downgrading wget - I used the version from my host system - it started working.
