I am signed up to take the RHCE Fast Track course next month, but would like to pre-study a bit. Some have mentioned the study guide from Jang: RHCE Red Hat Certified Engineer Linux
However, this is outdated and I'd like to use another. Any thoughts?
no, jang is great, still just fine for what you need. note that the fast track course reall won't teach you much. you have to go so fast it's only really any use for people who already know what they are doing. i did the fast track, and those of us who could have passed it without the course at all passed fine, everyone else failed *very* miserably...

Thanks Chris.
I have been a *nix sysadmin for a few years and have the Linux+ cert. Do you think this plus the fast track will be enough?
oh yeah i'd think so, there were a few guys that had done solaris for 10 years who came nowhere close and i'd have thought they'd have transferred ok... but if you've already got linux certs i would be fairly confident.
Hi Magian,
Don't be nervous at all. People fail in the exam because they do foolish mistakes, they prepare very badly. Many grab some sorts of simulations and dumps for RHCE But if you get such kind of stuff from some one or site then they are trying to fool you for nothing. Because RHCE is Practical exam i.e. you have to configure, troubleshoot, implement all in all hands-on. No pen-paper needed. No multiple choice question.
Be carefull while preparing for RHCE. and if you need more info, chat with me some time. If am free, surely will help you out.
