Servers to study RHCSA with
 

Does anyone know of a service that one can purchase that will give you 3 or 4 VMs to use during a self study for the RHCSA?

I'd do this on my own computer at home but it would be nice to have the servers available on the internet so I can study from any location.

What I'm thinking about is... for X dollars I would get 3 or 4 VMs that I can build from scratch as many times as I need and then use them to work through one of the self study books. They would be on their own v-lan but also have access to the internet for updates and installs of additional software.


Anyone know of something like this?

Why spend money on that? If you put your VM server in a DMZ then with a wee bit of hardening you could make it accessible from everywhere. Else maybe see http://aws.amazon.com/free/?

yes, I don't want to spend money... could I still have access to each VM from boot? That is to say, could I build a fresh machine from scratch over the internet and see the entire boot process and get the kernel selection screen once it is built?

If it were me, I would spend money on a copy of VMWare so that I could set up as many VMs as I wanted on my own machine or machines. I would want the entire scenario to be as simple as possible and completely under my own control, so that I could with a bare-minimum of fuss "set up and tear down, set up and tear down" any scenario that I wanted. Sometimes, the money spent for a commercial product is worth it.

I use VMware Server (not OSS but free to use and never gave me trouble like VirtualBox did). Individual guests are accessible via VNC (do use a SSH tunnel), via the networked services they provide themselves of course, and the VMware server interface runs on Linux and Windows giving you access to clients right from the boot command.
