RHCE Exam Preparation Overview

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum & have already made the mistake of asking for trouble shooting rpms, but still anyone can help it will be great.

I am going to give the RHCE Exam Pattern.

Section is of 2.30 hrs consisting of 2 phases.

Phase I 8 questions which means 80 pts out of this 5 are compulsory, & u shud finish the 5 compulsory questions in 1hr, So in the 1st 1hr only u come to know whether u will be a RHCE or not.

Most important questions are.

Login Problems
N/W
LVM
Quotas
Creating & resizing new Partition.

Phase 2

Grub Problems.

Section 2 is of 3 hrs again 2 phases.

1st phase

Installation through NFS
Raid
User Administration
Cron
Printer
nfs Server
user admin
NIS

2nd phase

Apache
Sendmail
tcp wrappers
iptables
Squid
Samba
NFS
VSFTP

Hope this helps wannabe RHCEs .

Now my question is regarding login Problems.
This is the most important problem as one can easily lose valuable time here.

My questions to already THOSE who are RHCEs to tell us,

which .conf files to check after booting into single user mode, I mean the problem can lie in one conf file if one is lucky or multiple conf files.

So to be on the safer side, plz tell us which conf file are to be checked for login problems.

Also I have heard Redhat have given login problems related to PAM, I am a bit weak out here plz help.
