RHCE Certification
What distribution can I use to study for the RHCE exam without having to pay for RHEL 5? Is Fedora a suitable substitute?

I'd suggest CentOS here, as CentOS is a free rebuild of RHEL, thus you should get the same experience with CentOS you'd also get with RHEL.
Fedora is more advanced, as it usually has all the latest stuff, thus you may find other/more/newer config-tools in Fedora which you may not have yet in RHEL/CentOS. |
reptiler: thanks for the advice.
everyone else: any other suggestions? |
FWIW, I used CentOS to study to the RHCE; and I passed with no problem :)
Really, the only difference is the Logos...everything else is the same. If you want, Red Hat has a "30-day Trail" you can use...you can get that 30 days before your test just so that you can be familiar with the "look and feel" of RHEL. http://www.redhat.com/rhel/details/eval -C |
great advice, thank you.
