I the actual book from OReilly. It's pretty good. I have been slacking on my own studying. Maybe I should get a job in computers...

LPI Sources

Hello,

My book LPI Level 1 Exam Cram 2 is coming out in early September, you can look at the details on amazon etc.

Thought about taking a course or a bootcamp? I won't go into details, but I train more LPIC candidates than anyone else combined, I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have.

I'm new here, I normally cruised CS, and securelyspeaking.com but heard really good things about here, so I'm going to pitch in.

This is great Ross. Who is the publishing house, the book cover does not mention?

Anywhere else, this would be self advertising, but here I am glad you posted :)

Book

It's from Quue/Pearson, due date Sep 10th.

Yeah, I try not to, ahem, advertise, but I see people struggling with 2-3 year old books for LPIC cert study and learning linux, so I thought I'd post that it's coming.

Thanks,

Ross

Thanks Ross.

Looking forward to it :)

How about a book for the LPIC-2. I already have the first one :)

efanning 08-05-2004 09:00 AM

Either I'm missing it or it's not listed anywhere on the LPI website, but what is the cost to take these exams? Also, is that the only cost (the exam cost), outside the cost of study materials that I may purchase on my own?

Thanks for any info.

Eric

The tests if I remember correctly are about $100 each and there are 2 per level

Cool, thanks for the info Mindcry

O'Reilly book is out of date/incomplete

The O'Reilly book is quite old and laid out for the previous version of the exams. It's missing the new objectives, some of which are signifiicant portions of the exams.

I am happy to say that my new book on the topic, the LPIC Level 1 Exam Cram 2 from Que is going to be in the stores the 20th of Sept. I am already using it in classes and it's getting very good reviews from the attendees.
