LPIC-1 Exam materials

i have some questions regarding LPIC1 exam:
I'm Microsoft certified and have about 7 years of windows ONLY experience 4MCSA +2MCSE all related to windows server systems
now i have been tasked with a new project all the servers will be linux for that i have decided to take lpi exams this time :)
i have finished a four video courses regarding LPIC exam also finished this book:

can any body help me am i reading the right book or is there a better book available out there and im not aware of ?
any course or books suggestion will be highly appreciated

You might wish to pause and consider whether – with seven(!) years of Windows experience – you actually need to "take another exam."

It's certainly an excellent idea to avail yourself of video courses that are intended for exam-preparation, and I also regularly scoop-up exam study guides (at used book stores ...) because these things are very good for "anticipating where the 'hidden rocks' are." But I must say that, if you've got seven years' experience managing Windows systems, perhaps you will find that "Linux is actually not that different." :)

Although, of course, "the details are completely different," in general "the concepts (and the typical :banghead: show-stoppers) ... :rolleyes: ... actually aren't. By now, you know what to look for.

So, at this point, I'd suggest that you trust(!) your accumulated experience and start planning-out your project. Look for potential "gaps" in your knowledge and, as you are now doing, seek to fill them. But, leverage your industry experience to help you anticipate which "gaps" might matter, and which ones might not.

Also: "leverage LQ!" :) Plenty of people here have stood in your exact same shoes ... for many decades. "Go ahead ... fire away." Many of the senior participants here are thoroughly familiar with Linux ... and Windows ... and midrange and mainframe ... and with lots of stuff they don't even make anymore. :jawa: All here to make sure that you succeed in your new endeavor. As you get your feet on the ground, post detailed questions here.

Hi & WELCOME to posting;) I think that book is enough Linux101. Here's more practice tests
(did you score well? I just got that book from my local library yesterday, for quiz_fun)

But, I bet you'll need lots of specific/deep topics -not- in the cert, and you might never use some of the cert details (like calculus vs. tax-CPA)
All the basic learning, design, troubleshooting, etc. skills you used in M$Win will still apply.

Feel free to tell us a bit more about what technologies you project will use, what practicing you've done with Linux, and how you feel your Linux success has been vs. your M$ work.
