Linux+, RHCT, or LPIC1
Hi All,
I have my Solaris 8 Admin cert, and now working on my Solaris 9 upgrade. I also want to work on a Linux cert, as this OS is starting to be used where I work on VMware boxes, and I can see it expanding it's use in other areas. I've also used it at home...both SuSE 8 & 9 and RH 7 through 9. Could anyone out there recommend what Linux cert would be best to work on first, then suggest a path? Also, it would be great to find a web site that describes the differences between these certs. Thanks so much for any help that can be provided! Anthony |
I think comptia.org has information on Linux +...I'd take this first.
LPIC is a good vendor-neutral test to take...I'd take this next. RHCT information I think can be found on www.redhat.com/training RHCT is all hands-on...be really comfy with what you're doing before taking the test. If you or your employer has the money, take the 4 day class before taking the test (RH 133). Also, studying the installation guide, sysadmin guide, and reference guides on www.redhat.com/docs will help you out tremendously before taking the class. |
