Don't you mean the tools with which to troubleshoot a system?

I too don't know what he means...but this brings an interesting issue...

How do we practicing troubleshooting/fixing if we know what we did to break our systems...

Simple Example...

To break apache I stop apache
Code:

root@host# service httpd stop
root@host# chkconfig httpd off

OF COURSE I know how to fix that...I'm the one who did it :D

I wonder if there is software out there that "breaks" it for me...

hmmm...

Sorry, I think that only works with mcrsft ;-p

Even though I'm not much into theoretical TS it's an interesting question all the same. Just using stuff and tinkering with things has always managed to provide enough "interesting" problems, some of which manifest only after some time. I mean, why fsck up things intentionally if others will do it for you anyway? :-]

I was speaking in terms of practicing for the RHCE :D

i was just asking about the rhce-config type of rpm that is used in rhce exam that is already popular for rhel4"s rhce and i was expecting the same but its quite awkward to see people r bragging here too much

With all due respect but something probably got lost in translation since I don't see any bragging here...

I was trying to figure that out myself

Perhaps we aren't looking hard enough. It's the internet, there is always bragging.

I don't know about programs that break it for you... wouldn't those be virii ? Go to some russian warez sites. You're bound to get one or two... even for linux.

"Virii" may sound wicked but it's "viruses" and the answer to that probably "no".

That's ill advice and not appreciated at LQ. Please see the LQ Rules if you think promoting that kind of stuff is OK.

'rhce-config-x.x-x.xx.noarch.rpm' :
These files are only available to persons who are joining their course.

Generally about searching files : Please use google.

Isn't it "system-config-x.x-x.xx.noarch.rmp" now? Or is that a CentOS "thing" only?
