Eckert's Linux+ Guide to Linux 1st vs. 2nd edition

Hi! I'm starting class tonight. Eckert's 2nd edition, from 2005 is $60! I can get the first edition for $15. Will the difference in editions matter? is there a big difference, to anyone that knows? thanks!

Might want to call the school and ask the instructor.
He's probably the one whose opinion on that matters.

true. I'll talk to him tonight. But in the meantime, I thought I'd get an opinion, if i could, from anyone who knows the difference between the 2 books.

1st edition has a lot of A+ certification aspects

Like I said the first edition received a lot of criticism Because it focused a lot, too much some say in A+ certification. So if you are taking the 2nd you would be wise to get that book.

I think the second edition is out of date too. Linux+ is now based on the --two-- LPI Level 1 exams. There is a third edition available that is up to date.
